Guild Rules

Section 1 - Applies to all members, regardless of rank or probationary status
All members of Heroes Unlimited will conduct themselves with honor at all times. This applies when dealing with guildmates and with non-members, regardless of provocation. The guild name should never be tarnished by a member's behavior. All members must understand that what they say and do will reflect on the guild as well as themselves.

Rules:

  1. All members of Heroes Unlimited are expected to deal fairly with all others, both within and outside the guild.
    1. Observe a need before greed (NBG) looting policy - if you can't use an item but a group member can, give them priority. EQ2 has a very helpful NBG loot distribution mode, the use of which is encouraged.
    2. Honest buying and selling. The EQ2 economy is naturally competitive, and there are no guild rules to dictate pricing policies. However, attempts to defraud other players are never acceptable.
    3. Always respect another player's right to make use of Norrath's resources just as you would want them to respect yours. This includes not stealing harvest nodes from other players and not taking shinies or mobs towards which another player is already working. Also be mindful of lower level players who may for instance be doing level appropriate questing or hunting where you are slaughtering grey mobs for quest drops.
    4. Never maliciously disrupt another player's enjoyment of the game, even if provoked. If you have a legitimate complaint about someone SoE provides the /report [name] and /petition functions. Where appropriate a member of the leadership team may also be able to help with disputes within the guild.
    5. Guild chat is to be kept family friendly at all times. Heroes Unlimited is proud to be a family guild wherein players of all ages are able to enjoy their time in game without being made to feel uncomfortable or being exposed to inappropriate behavior. The same policy should be applied by members in any public channel. Exercise discretion - if you wish to say something which is not universally appropriate, take it to tells or private channels.
    6. Bullying behavior or sexual harrassment will not be tolerated.
    7. Whilst there is no minimum age requirement for membership, and we endeavor to keep a family friendly atmosphere, it is expected that any young children will be appropriately monitored by their parent, guardian or other responsible adult. Heroes Unlimited is a family friendly guild, but whilst members are encouraged to be mindful of the needs of younger guildmates, they cannot control the behavior of others.
    8. Members should not provide gambling services for other players, such as casinos. The association of the guild name with such services damages the reputation of Heroes Unlimited. We have a jolly Gigglegibber in the guild hall who will be happy to address our gambling needs.

  2. We want our members to be proud that they are part of the family. All members should display their guild tag. Using "/anon" to mask your class, race, or level is unacceptable because it also hides your guild tag. Members may use "/roleplay" in situations where they don't want other players to know their class, race, or level.

  3. Cheating, or knowingly violating the Everquest 2 EULA (End User License Agreement) will not be tolerated. The EULA can be considered as an extension of our guild rules. This includes but is not limited to:
    1. Buying or selling ingame items or money from third parties. This supports the 'spammers' and devalues the achievements of other players. Permafrost is not a Station Exchange server, and therefore such trading is in direct violation of the EQ2 EULA.
    2. Knowingly exploiting unintended game mechanics to gain an unfair advantage over other players.
    3. Using third party programs or other means to gain XP, craft, or otherwise control your character automatically, or gain an unfair advantage in any way. Note that eq2maps is officially approved, and may be used freely.

Section 2 - Regarding probationary members
When first joining Heroes Unlimited, all members will embark on a 1 month probationary period. Newcomers are valued and respected as full members of the guild, but will have limited privileges. In the interests of fairness, the probationary period applies even to family of existing members.

Rules:

  1. Probationary members will be given lowest priority on raid loot.
  2. Guild bank access is restricted for probationary members.
  3. Probationary members will provide muffins.

Section 3 - General policy
This section outlines general guild policy, but not actual rules. In all but exceptional circumstances, this is how we like to do things.
  • One for all and all for one!...
Assist your guildmates. All members of Heroes Unlimited are expected to assist the other members of our guild. This assistance can be of a material, intellectual, or combat nature, as the member decides is best to fit the situation and as the member's abilities permit. No member is obliged to drop what they are doing and run to assist a guildmate, but it is in keeping with the guild spirit to assist where it is reasonable to do so.

  • Of alts and mains...
Any member, probationary or otherwise may have as many alts in the guild as they choose - all alts will be given the same probationary status as the main. One character of a member's choosing will be designated as their 'main.' This may be changed at any time, but is used in considering things such as loot distribution where a main may take priority. If someone regularly changes mains to capitalize on such considerations it will be noticed and taken into account.

  • Friends and family...
Close family of existing non probationary members is generally welcome without need to follow the full application procedure. It is however still important that the rules are read, that the new members understand and are willing to abide by them, and that any negative conduct will also reflect on the party vouching for the new member.
As a courtesy rather than a requirement, we would like to see an application from everyone who wishes to join the guild. Where an application is being made for two or more people, we prefer to see an application posted for each person. By all means make it clear that you come as a set, but all members of a group need to fit in individually for the group to fit in.

  • Keep in touch...
Check the guild message board at least every week to keep informed about events and raids that will be happening within the family. We have a thriving community on the message board and everyone is encouraged to join!
